The Salisbury/Sharon Transfer Station is located at 309 Sharon Road (Route 41) in Salisbury and is shared equally by both towns. Our Transfer Station is one of the oldest in the State and has been in continuous operation since 1973. Twenty-three years ago it became the first in Connecticut to join the Northeast Resource Recovery Association. This partnership provides many new recycling opportunities and cooperative buying programs.
Permits are required for all residents even if using a trash service. Special fees apply to certain materials (see link called Recycling). If you have questions about any recycling please call the Transfer Station.
Of special note is that the Salisbury/Sharon Transfer Station received the State's recycling award for the year 2003-2004. Brian Bartram, Manager, and his crew continue to maintain that level of excellence, although, of course, help is needed from all the citizens!

Hello, we are trying to get an estimate of the amount of unwanted paint in Salisbury & Sharon residents’ homes. This information will prove helpful when CT DEP is planning the implementation of our paint stewardship law. DEP has set up an anonymous survey for Connecticut homeowners to answer a few short questions about unwanted paint.

Please note this survey is only meant for Connecticut homeowners.
Thank you for your assistance!
