The Tax Collector’s office is down the left hallway on the first floor of Town Hall, 27 Main Street. After the Assessor has completed the Grand List and the Town budget is finalized, the amount of funds necessary to finance the Town are divided by the Grand List to determine the mill rate. The 2022 Grand List mill rate is 11.0. Your property assessment (70% of fair market value) is then multiplied by the mill rate to determine your tax. The Tax Collector then generates tax bills for Real Estate, Business Personal Property and Motor Vehicle taxes.
