The Planning & Zoning Commission holds one regularly scheduled meeting on the 3rd Monday of the month

Due to the ongoing public health concerns associated with COVID-19 Commissions are meeting virtually. To confirm meeting specifics please contact the Land Use Office. Pursuant to Governor Lamont’s Executive Order No. 7B Section 1, regarding the suspension of in person open meeting requirements, the Commission will be holding meetings online via Zoom. Members of the public will be able to participate in these public meetings via the video conference link posted on the agenda, or by dialing in using the teleconference phone line listed.
The Planning & Zoning Commission is responsible for administering the Salisbury Zoning and Subdivision Regulations as well as implementing and maintaining the Plan of Conservation and Development. In accordance with Connecticut General Statutes Chapters 124-138m, they review Site Plan, Special Permit, and Subdivision Applications, as well as make referrals and reports to various municipal agencies.

If you are unsure of what type of permit is required for your proposed use or project, please begin here. The first step is to establish the underlying zoning and any overlay districts (if applicable) by locating your parcel on the zoning maps. Then reference the general use, dimensional, and parking requirements on the tables towards the end of the Zoning Regulations. Specific standards for special uses, nonconforming situations, or projects within overlay districts can be found throughout the text. Detailed requirements for permits are also outlined within the Zoning Regulations.

** Effective November 19, 2020 – Please submit 4 complete paper sets of materials with all Site Plan and Special Permit Applications. Additionally, provide digital versions of all plans and photographs. For Administrative Zoning Permits please refer to the application for the number of copies required and submit all plans in digital and paper form. **
Applications made to the Commission should be submitted no later than noon the Thursday before the meeting to ensure all application materials can be posted to the website in accordance with the Governor’s Executive Orders. The Assessor’s Cards are now available online and should be referenced when completing applications.
